Making an Electronic Controller

Post by dangermouse »

I have read this thread on slotforum (hope it is ok to post here Phil)
http://www.slotforum.com/forums/index.p ... ntry548840

and this one from West Aus
http://neophytte.mine.nu/forum/forum.pl ... 367&page=1

where they are making electronic controllers for about $20 worth of parts...

so is there anyone in Brisbane - who has made their own controller - or who understands the diagrams (I must admit I don't fully)
that can offer some guidance - I have two non functioning Parma controllers and while I am thinking the easiest thing is to buy new resistors I am also keen to have a go at making at least one of these controllers jut because I was a problem child and I see it as a challenge that I want to tackle :)

cheers
David

Hi DAvid,

It looks quite do-able but I would expect a bit of heartache and frustration if electrical knowledge is minimal. You might also have to endure something you're not totally happy with in the finished product. But if you're keen, I say go for it.

When I'm not racing slotcars,
I'm out in the back yard, burning food!!

When I win, it's because of my talent, not my car or my controller!

Holy Moly DM,

I'm battling to solder new ends on the guide ends of my scaley "round guide" motor wires.

I think I'm going to have to look into electronics and the like once I've mastered resin moulding.

Great Article though and Props to you for wanting to have a go mate.
