Well, as I can't have a large scale track here at this point in time... I had to get rid of my big 2400 x 1200 board as I had nowhere to store it unfortunately, however I've had kicking around for a while (and I brought it down to Launceston with me...) a 1200 x 450 board of MDF... While it won't give me any appreciable length for a straight, I can at least have some differing corners to see how the car can behave.

The question is, what kind of track layout can I do! It's an incredibly small space, hah.

I guess I could always do the autocross style designs that you see, eg, the carpark thingy to send the slot car around in. Would work alright in that kind of cramped space.

About the only option I suppose!
