Very happy to anounce that the awaited Avantslot Dakar truck has arrived
Topslots,n trains does an excelent job of packing- would highly recommend them
As to the beast-it seems by the forums that a break in of the running gear is
recommended-as well as generous amounts of grease/lube- have just started this process
So will keep u informed

Hey, that looks awesome verne! Do you have any one to compete against? Does it have the drop out guide and suspension??

Phil
No -do not have one to compete against-yet-they are suppost to be releaseing another soon
the drop arm -when u lift it up goes vertical-was thinking of replacing the guide with a sprung
ninco one
And yes it has suspention on all 4 wheels-about 1/8" movement
It has 2 motors -1 to drive the front wheels and the other the back

Finding that the rear crown(Contrate) seems to be a bit loose-even after i tighten it-any ideas
Any body tried grinding in a flat spot on the axle to see if that will work?
Have added some moly greese to help break the gears in and seems to be working so far
Anybody know what other tires will fit-something a bit more agressive looking?
Want to try and keep the rims as they are aluminium

Hi Verne

My initial suggestion would be to dismantle the axle and thouroughly clean the axle and the inside of the crown gear. If molyslip has got in there it might be lubing the axle/crown contact area and reducing the friction needed to stay put. Another thing to watch out for is the end of the grub screw. A grub screw usually has a raised ring on the 'biting' end. This helps it cut into the toughest of materials and generate grip. Make sure the offending screw has one. I would file a flat on the axle as a last resort but it should do the trick if all else fails.

As for tyres, I'm not sure what would fit. Maybe something from a 1/24 off road kit maybe?

check out So Real Concepts and click on products, or type '1/24 off road tyres' or similar into one of the popular search engines

I've justed noted the double reduction in the gear train too!! I would be interested in a tooth count for both pinions and contrate/spur
