Can anyone help me with the battery voltage required to sound the horn in these little buildings I can' seem to find this any where Peter Mansfield

Hi Peter, the battery you are looking for is a 1.5 volt (nominal) Type 'D' Battery. The nickel variations would be unsuitable

Hi Wix well I had the right battery so it came down to adjusting the tuning screw on the back of the horn I can tell you there is more tuning space on an old transistor radio. When made there was adab of paint on the srew to show tuning position this given its age had chipped off and all I was getting was aclick the reason I Ichecked battery strength there is a miniscule turn between in tune and click sound but I did have to remove the locking srew to adjust to fine tune hope this all makes sense. once again thank you for your interest pete

It sounds like they tune the same way as the old 60's car horns!
