Hi Waynew,
It does appear to be a fact of life at the moment that with UK Dealers selling retail less 20% VAT(Read GST) and with the Aussie dollar so strong at the moment it could be hard to sell it this year at that price. As ken suggested, it may be worth a lot more in a couple of years, sorry for the bad news.
