Slotcar Legends Round 1

Firstly I will wish everybody a happy new slotcar year and if Santa didn’t bring everything you wanted then it looks like it could be a financial blessing in disguise as there are some ‘must haves’ in the pipeline in 2009 to fit every body’s pocket.

On the local front, I would like to thank all the guys that attended Slotcar Legends meetings in ’08 and I look forward to seeing you all again in ’09. If you have a copy of the latest ‘Legends’ guidelines (dated 01/01/2009) then everything will be very similar. Why change a popular formula. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ is my policy.

The trophy series class and format has yet to be decided on and I will put a poll on the website. If you haven’t already let your thoughts be known, log in and add your two pen’uth.

Other good news is that the new track at Paul and Jen’s at Mt Ommaney is almost ready to roll, I have some timing lights to hook up and it should be all systems go!!

Once again, Legends meetings will be held on the third Saturday of each month irrespective of other events (it may be moved when it clashes with public holidays) and the start times will be set by the track owner, as always. Class routine will remain the same with the first event of each meeting being Invitation (track owners choice). The second event will be a ‘Slotcar Legends’ fixed class (see your guide lines) and the third event will be the ‘Trophy’ event which will accumulate points across the season, much like the already run Porsche Cup and the Subaru Challenge.

No doubt Q32 will also have an action packed calendar and information regarding the Q32 season should be directed to Glen Perrin



The first Slotcar Legends race meeting will be at Bob and Julie's at Strathpine on Saturday 31st January (to avoid the Australia Day long weekend). Please note the times. Arrive 4.00pm onwards for a 6.00pm start! (email me for the address etc if you aren’t sure of them)
