OK , lets get serious

We need a slotcar that is good SOOB . We need a control tyre . Because its good out of the box no weight should be allowed !

And just to make it interesting we should have an open claim rule where you can claim another competitors cars to drive if you feel he has an unfair advantage . That should stop any sneaky tricks . ( It goes without saying though that if you smash the shit out of someone elses car you buy it ).

So we have standard cars , standard tyres and no weight .

What cars can we pick from that fit that brief ? Scaley , Carrera or SCX go good straight away .

GT 1 , JGTC , NASCAR , INDY , DTM ?

Best Regards
Paul

To be perfectly honest, I like that idea Paul. It'll keep cost down, and be pretty fun to boot.

It is a field where I think Trans Am or the Daytona Prototypes would work well, because you know Trans Ams are good out of the box, and the Daytona Prototypes are pretty awesome out of the box as well, once you do a few laps and get the tyres bedded in nicely.

Great on board, and I would like to see how they go on Bobs track given they have these two very thin magnets.

Unsure what you'd choose in terms of control tyres, but I'd like to see stock out of box tyres, unless someone could come up with a very good reason as to why to allow any others.

Good idea Paul.
Maybe throw in a Porsche 917 coupe & Ferrari 512 to make it a bit more of a grid, The FLY with the mabuchi 18K motor like the scaleys.
The maybe i could race my FLY 917 Gulf set cars.

Do I hear classic Le Mans calling?? or is just the wind in the willows??

I think we need a bit of input from the group B drivers, come on Ken, Al, Bob, what's the call?

I'll put the poll up in a day or so and hopefully you will have more than one choice. Speaking to Bob today and he suggested a BMW Cup (excluding the Le Mans Group 1 cars, Mmmmmmmm.....)

Suggestions so far are:
Rally Raid
Daytona Prototypes
Road Going Supercars
Can Am
Grand Am
Classic Le Mans (non magnet)
Post '57 small sedans (good on yer john)
Lambo Miura Challenge
V8's
Go Karts
Ferrari P4/GT40 challenge
BMW Cup

Any more offers? Going once, going twice!!

Hi Phil,

I'll add one which no one has mentioned....

How about Historic F1.... You know, the ones with the 8mm wheels and tyres....

Should be a varied assembly of cars with Scaley, Cartrix, SCX, Homemade, etc....
Cheers
Kev.

Hi Kev, possibly the best suggestion so far in my opinion. A nice selection of very drivable cars that will suit possibly all the tracks on the racing circuit. Also we don't race anything close to this style of car. Most of the other suggestions we already race in one form or another but the Historic F1 is a one off and gets my vote after the side car motorbikes, roofed and unroofed etc, etc........

Gents,

From a B GRADER. I like Kev's idea of the Historic F1 and I concur with Perros support.

If this makes sense?
