Once again under the banner of Slotcar Legends a manageable crowd arrived at Robyn and Greg's Logan City raceway twenty minutes south of Brisbane. Four classes had been posted and all were chosen with extreme care to ensure the maximum amount of fun on this very fast but highly drivable magnabraid circuit. Getting odd to a late start ad V8's were the first to run. Plenty of V8 action both on and off the track for some but always a good class. The flyover supplied plenty of marshalling action and the bottom bend at the end of the main straight was in continual use as a wrecking yard. Several times I was called out to adjust the laps as a steady stream of racers chose to pass under other s lights at the start/finish line. Finally it was all over and after 160 laps the computer got it right again (for me anyway!)

Next up was Porsche 911's, and with some nice models taking to the rack it was a very showy grid. Particularly attractive was Glen's Rear motored Fly 911 and particularly quick was an SCX 997. I was driving a loaner and although it hadn't had much preparation, and it was also being loaned out to a couple of other guys, it held together and managed to run well for those using it! Neil did exceptionally well with an early RX41 GT1 and Bill spent a lot of time in the scenery. With the numbers increased the heats were shortened and final results gave the home team the advantage.

Third class for the evening was Daytona Prototypes and a chance for the newcomers to test their favourites. Most models were Slot.it derivatives and there were a couple of Fly cars for good measure. It wasn't long before Bill made it apparent that he was in business with his loaner Fly car and apart from Glen, all the rest could do was watch the action. After eleven heats it was going to be close and a bad heat for Bill early on saw him pick up the runners up prize only seconds behind Glen

Last up was the classic NASCAR class and with Monogram and Carrera being in abundance there was some good racing. Numbers had dropped by this time and this was to be the last class of the day. Once again, plenty of marshaling action for some and even Moby's super heavyweight Ford had to contend with third place behind me to the tune of two seconds. Greg drove his model well and was to be the inevitable winner with the visitors running well but not quite well enough.

When I'm not racing slotcars,
I'm out in the back yard, burning food!!

When I win, it's because of my talent, not my car or my controller!
