Here is where i got my figures for my post before and is independent of any manufacturer or commercial entity.
Tested” means at least one sample was tested for RPM at the listed voltage, under no load, with this tachometer:

Like my signature says, this slot car racing is all shenanigans basically. We have driving shenanigans, marshalling shenanigans, deslot shenanigans, computer shenanigans, food and drinking shenanigans, etc etc.

Shenanigans or Bust!

I do not believe I'll be able to attend the racing this Saturday, I seem to have a ticket to the Rugby League World Cup final.

Hello again, guys. Things got pretty busy around here for a while, and I am just now back in the saddle. I think I have the idea now. If I understand it properly, the trick is to hold the square tube brush holder and skew it, rather than twist the entire endbell to achieve the same result. Is that it?

By the way, I'll think of you as I finish this pint and again when I drink the next one. Cheers!

Rob

You got it Rob, but remember to twist it in the DIRECTION OF ROTATION! That is, based on the direction of rotation when the motor is wired according to the model direction of travel!! ie. The slotcar standard wiring is to have (+) positive to the right hand braid looking in the direction of travel, therefore, if you are going to do this tune, ensure the motor is connected to jump leads so that it is rotating in the same direction as when it is installed in the model? Is that confusing. If the (+) is on the wrong terminal you will be tuning the motor to run backwards! I hope that hasn't totally confused everybody! I will do a short video when I get back from holiday.

I took my SCX F40 racing last saturday (07/11/09) and the motive force was an unopened RX41 with polished poles and brush timing changed. The event was for Slot.it cars on a technical circuit with a couple of usable straights (average lap time 11 secs.) After a few tangles in the melee of my first heat I soon settled into the rythem. Fifteen heats later I ended up third overall from fifteen drivers. The model had about six grams extra weight and MJK's to the rear. Not a bad result for an RX41!!
