A weighty topic, but made to measure

For non magnet racers the dilema of ballasting a model can still persist. Not so much from a 'how much' and 'where?' angle but more of a 'what to use' slant. I still hear stories of guys hammering fishing sinkers into all sorts of shapes and others using wheel balance weights which are bulky and prone to coming loose. What is wanted is something that is readily attachable at the track and moveable too while setting up the balance. Glueing is a bit final and can be a bit destructive when trying to remove them later.

Some several weeks ago now I was in my local R/C Hobby store buying other things when I noticed a new line on the peg board. A pack of pre cut, self adhesive weights. Meant initially for trimming aero models, I could see their application straight away. The weights are made up like little squares of chocolate and can be 'peeled' off and fixed in a jiffy. Once you have reached optimum ballast it is a simple task to turn them over and superglue them in place!!

When I'm not racing slotcars,
I'm out in the back yard, burning food!!

When I win, it's because of my talent, not my car or my controller!
