Scalextric "Drift" Car

Post by chuckjoyce »

Is it possible to remove the pick ups from this car and replace it with a normal pick up.. the Scalextric "Drift" car has a "screw" (goes thru chassis into pick up) - rotates 360 degrees - has four weights around it.. would like to replace this with a normal Scalextric pick up..

Hi Chuck

I don't have any, but I am familiar with the drift car guide system. having repaired two or three for a local collector. Unfortunately it isn't a case of pull one out and pop one in. A new guide may well fit the guide hole but other arrngements may need to be made for supplying power. Initially I would say that the simplest solution would be to devise a guide stop for the guide if that is all that is wanted.

When I'm not racing slotcars,
I'm out in the back yard, burning food!!

When I win, it's because of my talent, not my car or my controller!
