Re: The 'Red Team' Unacceptable face of slotracing?

Post more of this stuff! This was great. Next time I get our bunch together, I'll take a pile of pics, too. A couple of years ago, I found and bought a 1965 Imperial Red track by American Model Raceways (150 feet, 8 lanes, commercial), and I still have the pics of the trip to the 200 year old tobacc...

Re: Best and Worst of 2007

I dunno... You get a flock of those NSU's, Trabbies and Simcas together and turn the voltage down, you've got a party. I wish I knew about the 3-wheeled Messerschmidts. I love those things and the BMW Isettas, too. I had a coach in Jr. High School who had both, and it was our joy to be the ones to g...

Re: Best and Worst of 2007

I loved the Scaley F1 set. Hands down, their best so far.
I also have become a loyal Slot-it fan this year.

Worst, Slotter anything, and overpriced, too delicate Nincos. I may not buy them anymore at all.

Re: Fly / GB Track Chevron

I too, discovered that loose screw tip for these cars late in the game. I bought several more specifically because I liked the cars so much more. They haven't been scarce at all, even the oldest ones, and I enjoy them every time.

Re: SEQSCC August epic

Where are you guys getting those great VW Bus bodies? I can't find them anywhere! I have a '71 Bus and a '68 Doublecab truck that I love, in addition to several other VW's, and I want to build a slot car of all six of them. But in 1/32, I haven't had a nibble on my line.

Re: NC1 rally cars found -thanks

One more thought about this, Kenneth... I like the NC-1 very much, and I sometimes convert chassis to NC-1 power just for fun on my own track. There are a couple of manufacturers who make a perfect fit plastic part to snap on the NC-1 to make it long enough for other can motor chassis designs. They ...

Re: Fly BMW 3.5 CSL

I have several liveries of this model, and the front stub axle play has varied from model to model so much that I now try to push the stubs in just a bit to see if they tighten up. I used to refit the stub axle Fly cars as soon as I got them home, regardless. With this particular model, I actually h...

Re: Trackside signs for download

I downloaded them a few nights ago, and they are great. I'm going to put them on my guard rails this weekend, I hope. Johnny Lugnutz is a great guy from what I can tell, and his photos of his little girl are a real treat (Littlest Racer).

Re: Braid care

I have been using a commercial compound for cleaning braid for years, and when I ran out recently, I used the spray that is meant for cleaning commutator plates just before I went to the track. I was astounded by the effectiveness of this stuff. Its an awful mess if you spray it on, so spray it on a...

Just a bit of comment from North America, about these cars... I have several of them in various liveries and bodies, and I can tell you that they are the most popular stock RTR class we run by far. They cost less than most, they are very tune-able, and on our wood tracks, they will fly around the tr...

I seem to be surrounded by genuiese-geniususes-genius guys. Since I'm drinking it right now, I'll add my favorite to the list- Abita Amber Wheat Beer. I love it. Its made in Abita Springs, just outside New Orleans on Lake Pontchartrain, in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana. I grew up in the deep bayou c...

I have a couple of Daytona prototype bodies. One is in this photo. Its a Lexan from a privateer outfit in Ohio. Our little group decided to have a race that was all NC-1 powered, and these are the ones I made. Its coincidental that this Sun Trust and the Crown Royal car are both Riley chassis. I tho...

Well, Phil, as near as I can tell, the Daytona Prototype series has become another useless "all the same" car series, like NASCAR, in its present, and pointless configuration. All innovation and individuality has ceased for these two classes. Riley makes one of the four major chassis, and ...
