Resin Mercedes 196

Once you have screwed a few bodies to a few chassis I guarantee it won’t be long before you are making those components that you have previously bought in kit form. The chassis may well come first and as such lend themselves to more artistic approach than say a body does. Once the art of chassis b...

Re: Cox Cheetah Tidy up

I like the finish on the chassis, and if you are going to run it, Paul Gage tyres will make all the difference.

Re: Removing wheels

Another plausible fix littleshark, I recommend if you are doing it this way to use a 1/16th drill bit in a pin vice if you have one. I also suggest that if you are not in a hurry, remove the offending axle to do the repair, why's this? Trust me, if you get glue into the axle bearing you are going to...

Re: Cox Cheetah Tidy up

Hi Greg A classic slotcar indeed, on closer scrutiny most older slotcars carry marks of time. Damage is usually caused by the model having been stored in a place with something of weight stored on top of it. In these cases the mild application of heat (up to 80C should get most of the defect out and...

Re: 60's Revell Stingray back from the wreckers!

After having moderate success with the Stingray I decided to look round my classic 60's slotcars, surprise surprise after I picked two models for the same treatment. The same faults applied, the drivers trays had been glued in badly, windows had frosted glue around the edges, and weren't coming out ...

Some serious repairs

http://www.slotcarouthouse.com/photos/Img_2190_zps1gognb8l.jpg It sometimes happens that during the course of racing a model can become broken. Usually the bits that break are changeable 'consumable’ parts like wheels, guides wings etc. But sometimes there are disasters of a more serious and init...

RACING at the LCR

Hi All Generally a good turn out last night with 12 in attendance and some good classes on the board. First up was the surprise Carrera Hot Rod ten lap challenge, not sure who won it but judging by the expression on the racers faces, they were either having fun or had a severe bout of wind! Next up ...

Re: Scx Peugeot 307

I would use a broad strip of hot glue down either side of the motor. Make sure the motor and chassis are clean and there is no oily residue anywhere. Do one side at a time and let it cool, you will need to position the motor/chassis at an angle as the glue will run in the early stages of cooling. Al...
